He struggled to confess the thing and then finally as we were discussing metaphysics, lightning flashed from his eyes and he said "Listen, it's terrible to say but I lost all want to pray for 15 days. " It was like paralyzed as if he had proof that Faith is a gift from God that we can lose. Me why did he say? Perhaps simply because he knows I do not talk to anyone without tweezers.
It was quite simple: one day, he said, overwhelmed by all the problems of the world, seeing no end nowhere and seeing that all around him people who never pray or live lawless lives happier than him, so he wondered what good pray ? What good is praying every day if not the slightest hope does not come?
He always believed in God but he said he no longer felt the need to pray because he never asked for anything to God, he prayed for everything and usually it is one day overwhelmed with miseries, he jumped a prayer and then two then three and then two a week, he noticed that nothing has changed, no more hope no less desperate.
Emptiness, nothing. Only then, he said, he remembered the time he prayed, he was not alone, then the prayer was not a prayer for the happiness or paradise but just a way of being connected. He then realized he had been disconnected before to stop praying.
How is this possible? There he realized that it is God himself who took away not the Faith because he still believed in God but just that little something that makes you feel you is not disconnected totally. Then he opened his Koran, and read the latest chapters of the book and asked God, Lord of the universe to make his full faith.
All he wanted was to feel the connection. Then he said, suddenly, the next day he began to pray but not like before, not out of obligation but because it was a necessity like breathing ...
